My husband chose to end his life on June 24, 2005. He was a successful businessman, whom everyone loved. Three months before his death he became withdrawn and very worrisome about things that would not be factual. He was on medication for this short time. Three weeks before his death he took a leave from work. His doctor told me not to leave him alone. The morning he died, he seemed back to normal. He knew I had to take my mother to the doctor.
I now know that he was at peace with this decision. When I returned I found him in the Master Bath. I have the vision of how I found him almost every day. The Survivors of Suicide Support Group has helped me deal with the grief and emotions. I have two sons ages 27 and 30 who are still dealing with the loss of their father, who was very involved in their lives.
